Aircraft Pneumatics

The Cirrus Way of Learning

The Pneumatic System is responsible for providing compressed air towards the different “End Users” such as Icing Protection, Engine Starting, Air Conditioning, and others. Compressed air or most commonly referred to as “Bleed Air” is provided by the engine’s compressor which passes through ducts going to its designated end user.

This course is designed to prepare the students to be knowledgeable on the design and operation of the Pneumatics System of the aircraft. The student will be able to identify and explain the different designs and components used in the operation of the Pneumatics System. In addition to this, this course will also tackle the sources of bleed air that supply components and systems that use the pressurized air produced by the Pneumatic System. Most importantly, the students will be able to apply deductive reasoning by understanding the principle of operation of the whole design and its components.
